Everyone has heard the cliche phrase “practice makes perfect”
Is it true?
Absolutely not and it’s not remotely close. Walk into any driving range on a busy evening, look around at the full bays of people and ask yourself “are these golfers actually getting any better?”
For the overwhelming majority there, you and I both already know the answer.
Isn’t it more than a bit disheartening to think there are so many out there who are actually putting in decent levels of effort towards trying to take their game to the next level, but for whatever reason, the wheels seem to just spin in the mud?
Well, the reality is that it’s not really for “whatever reason” that they’re not seeing any progress. It comes back to the harsh truth pertaining to golf that, practice does NOT make perfect, sometimes it can even make things worse! If you’re working on the wrong things, poor habits can be more than quickly engrained.
So, what does in fact make perfect then?…..
Practice + Feedback.
Followed of course by applying said feedback.
Feedback allows you the learner, to increase your understanding, address misconceptions and reinforce your self-awareness that you are actively on the correct path by providing absolute clarity in explaining the “why” behind any and all technique changes.
All of which will unequivocally provide much needed guidance and direction in your efforts, which in turn enhances your accountability, confidence and motivation levels in your pursuit of achieving your full potential.
If you are someone who is an avid practicer and is seeking real improvement and is now eager to quickly garner powerful professional feedback, then my online lesson format which maximises the speed in which you can receive feedback, optimises scheduling flexibility and is a lower cost option compared to in-person lessons, is a highly valuable resource I encourage you to avail of.
All of my online instruction is now delivered on an app you can download to your phone for free, called Skillest.
I initially got into the world of online instruction as a means of being able to continue helping clients who had moved abroad to Australia and were still keen to improve their golf.
Since then, it has become a popular option for players all over the country who choose this lesson style for many different reasons including avoiding long travelling distances for otherwise in-person lessons, clients with busy schedules, golfers adding it in as an addition to in-person coaching sessions and others opting solely for the online option due to the effectiveness of it as the ultimate modern day coaching experience. Due to growing popularity, I have recently moved all of my online tuition exclusively to the Skillest platform as it provides me the best opportunities of seamlessly and quickly returning high quality feedback to players.
How it works?
Next time you’re at the range practicing, simply hand your phone to a mate or put it in a tripod and record two angles of your swing (face on and down the line). Click on my coaches profile on Skillest, purchase a lesson and submit your videos along with any context or questions you’d like to add.
I will return two detailed and easy to understand instructional videos back to you within 24-48hrs, which is much sooner than you would be able to book in for an in-person lesson.
What are in the videos I send you?
The first is a voice-over video analysis of your swing identifying areas for improvement along with a second video of myself demonstrating exactly what you need to do, including customised corrective drills to help implement any changes to your technique. If you click on my Skillest profile and scroll down, you will be able to access an example of a lesson to see first hand if this style of lesson appeals to you.m arranging a coaching session and helping you remove the confusion and frustration from your golf. Father’s Day coaching gift vouchers are also still available with both online payment and online delivery of vouchers as an option to maximise your conveniency ahead of the big day on Sunday.

All videos are personalised specifically to you, there is no pre-recorded videos. This is nothing like “tips” you’ll see on YouTube that are more generic for the overall golfing community watching on.
