How did they go from hitting it off the planet right, to producing a power fade that drifted back onto their target?
…..An increase in clubface control
Clubface is quite simply king in this scenario 👑
The clubface has the biggest influence on the starting direction of your shots. An open clubface (as can been seen in the parameters listed at the bottom of the top pic) hence why their shots were starting right of their target.
What then causes the rightward curvature is the difference between where the clubface is aiming and the direction the club path is travelling in at impact. The bigger the difference in where these two are pointing, the bigger the curve you’ll see. The closer the relationship between the path and the clubface becomes, the less curve you’ll experience on your shots
So
We took action and addressed the ROOT CAUSE of what exactly it was in their swing that was resulting in their clubface being delivered so open at impact and producing the unwanted starting direction and excessive curvature
Most golfer’s miss hit is a weak shot that curves way too far off line
The reason most don’t succeed in fixing it by themselves, they don’t understand what produces ball flight i.e. the relationship between your clubface and your club path at the moment of truth
One thing I can guarantee you
The player who’s before vs after shots that are pictured above, by the time they left the SMG studio in Kilcock after this coaching session they absolutely had a crystal clear understanding of what produces ball flight
But most importantly
They were equipped with the skill of now being able to curate their desired ball flight
2 drills were given to this client as a means of further engraining the new movement pattern in their technique which allowed them to deliver a functional and predictable clubface orientation back to the ball
2 weeks later, they captured a monthly medal win 🥇
