As some of you may already be aware, last week whilst world number one Scottie Scheffler cruised his way to securing his second major championship victory of the year, I had the honour of coaching at the very same event for a truly special week in Royal Portrush.
Having been selected as one of only 24 PGA Professionals across the UK & Ireland to coach at The 153rd staging of The Open Championship at the PGA Swing Zone, last week was certainly an opportunity that will live long in the memory bank. To say it was a busy week would certainly be an understatement, but one that was thoroughly enjoyed from start to finish which ran for eight consecutive days in my schedule, Sunday to Sunday, from the events first official practice day right through until the last putt dropped on the final day of the tournament.
Throughout my time at Royal Portrush, I documented my experience covering everything I was involved in ranging from detailed lesson insights at the swing zone, media duties in front of the camera, hanging out with a friend and colleague for the week who now carries the exclusive title of Master PGA Coach (one of only 66 in the world to receive such accolade) and observing the best in the game prepare before each competitive round in their attempt to get their hands on our sports most historic piece of silverware.
To do the experience justice, I have put together some behind the scenes footage that I’ve shared on my YouTube channel which is now live to check out!
